Micro-credential Providers

In 2023 the ECTE will begin offering quality assurance activity for the Accreditation of Micro-credential Providers. This page brings together the guidelines, application forms and updated information on micro-credentials.

  • Latest news:  On 9 March 2023, the ECTE General Assembly approved the strategic plan to launch micro-credentials.
  • Application. The Micro-credential Provider Application form will be available on this page starting from June 2023.
  • Guidelines.  Click here to access the Guidelines for Micro-credential Providers, that include the criteria, procedures and standards for being accredited as a Micro-credential provider.

It should be noted that accreditation as a micro-credential provider is a separate service and procedure. It should not be confused with institutional and programme ECTE accreditation.

Accreditation of micro-credential providers is currently not included in the scope of the European Standards and Guidelines nor of the external review for inclusion in the EQAR.
