The ECTE recognises students as key stakeholders in its operations, and seeks to facilitate the creation of independent student networks of theology students in Europe and the Middle East. The ECTE has a permanent student on the Council who is responsible for facilitating a network of ECTE student representatives. For the 2019-2021 term Mirko Fritzlar has been elected to this position.
